Vulnerability is the scariest ⚡️ yet most beautiful 🌸 thing in my life. My first year in Real Estate has taught me so much about myself & how much growing I still have to do.

Raise your hand if you've been personally victimized by fear & limiting beliefs...🙋🏼‍♀️🥺

Let's break down the timeline of how I ✨actually✨ got into Real Estate.

College: Moving to Allston my second year of college, I knew that I had living expenses; rent, groceries, commuting, school bills, etc. While searching for apartments for my roommates and I to move into, I recognized the agent showing us a unit! I literally had class with him... like shiiii- okay. I saw him out here and said "wait that looks like fun!" but I never acted on it... 😞

3 years later: I have my degree & I moved back home; living near the city was becoming too financially taxing on me, and my money habits we're not healthy. I also just ended a relationship & needed to heal- so I moved back into my high school bedroom. I have been here since...

2020: Healing, healthy, in love (new relationship, rebound?)........ COVID 🦠

What the F$#@ was that?!?!?! Anyone else still angry? Absolutely wild times we live in, and no one in the world knew what to do- some weird divine unity no? Or divide...?

2021: The layoffs continue, and I dodged the VID, but not the pink slip... I got the blessing in disguise getting laid off from my entry level recruiting job- stability yes, but let me tell you that my mental health and even physical health was PLUMMETING.

RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU'VE BEEN PERSONALLY VICTIMIZED BY COVID. mhm.

That lay off made me real sad, for about 2 mins. I don't like being left/released/let go!! Breaking up is hard to do 🥺 but that release gave me so much growth and freedom to decide the next phase of my life. I left the relationship I was in, as it was was self sabotage in the form of distraction. It was then that I saw the changes of the real estate industry; there's a new generation of agents. This I feel happened with life in general, right? Like COVID really put us up against the lockers and said "how do you want to live your life?" All of our eyes, all three of them, have been opened; some are still opening them. And damn does it feel good to see; we're seeing it ALL.

It was here 📍 that I learned my life's purpose to connect, advocate & grow in the Real Estate industry. That tiny thought I had in college? It came back to me, it came back after so many zoom interviews where they were just selllllling me the position, and I felt like a robot autonomously going through the motions, all for a paycheck. It came back when I didn't feel any passion for my job, or career path, or even environment. My life's purpose came to me when I stopped accepting a black and white life and started seeing my life in color. I'm not colorblind, but my mind was; my energy, my intuition was- I wasn't about to live the rest of my life that way. pass.

I made the call that opened the door to my life now 📱 I called my mum's realtor, who is a neighbor- I told her to tell me everything negative about this industry. And she did. she told me about million-dollar deals that would fall through, she told me how much work it takes, how much time and money is going to be spent- how I won't see any money until there's a sale. And I said okay, bet. Then, someone else called me 😳 about 2 hours later out of the blue. He chatted with me about getting into the real estate industry. I asked him to do the same thing- tell me all the bad. And he did. He told me how the only thing that's constant in this industry is that it's not. He told me about a 1.4 mil deal that fell through because of something small. He told me that he had a part time job on the side until he was able to financially work real estate full time. He told me about the sacrifices he's had to make and that everyone's journey is different.

He is now my mentor.

I took the classes over zoom, I studied the flash cards, I struggled with my own mental health and limiting beliefs. I've failed the test multiple times. I got my MA licenses after about 4 tries. But I did the damn thing. I joined RE/MAX- and started my journey under my mentors wing. I've experienced open houses 🏡, radon tests, writing offers 📃, inspections, ShowingTime, random phone calls from agents whose number I didn't save, CLIENTS✨ I've learned how to market myself; I learned what it truly means when you say "you get out of it what you put into it" and damn when I learn my lessons, it takes me a couple tries.

Raise your hand if you're a 2nd lesson learner... 🙋🏼‍♀️ but that's changing.

When you're not aligned with your true self, and you don't know your life's purpose, it's easy to miss life's lessons.

Everyday I step farther into alignment with myself and my purpose 🙏🏻 Is my life's purpose selling houses???? I don't think so. BUT my life's purpose is questioning the norm, advocating for the change, & sharing what I see/hear/know to instill change. The change that will bring others to uncover to their true selves, & closer to their life's purpose. And right now, real estate is giving me the safest space I've had to be my true self, and share my knowledge, share my perspective, and be a part of the change.

I'm so grateful for those who made it through this read, my journey is valuable- and so is yours 💕

Beautiful and spoken from the heart. Vulnerability is brave it opens you up and takes away our protective defenses so that we may see and hear and grow from others we share life amongst. Best wishes to this new endeavor Kara.
